With the growing technology, improvements and modification, the adopted advanced technologies have significantly resulted in reduced labor and maintenance. Subsequently, it has stabilized operation and increased copper productivity. Cathode quality enhancements have been implemented by focusing on electrolyte quality and chemistry, procedural changes and physical / mechanical improvements. The Company has reduced downstream refining costs. An improved range of quality product at competitive rates has installed a higher confidence in our customers towards Somika.

Challenges still exist with conventional operations. Achieving and maintaining superior performance is an ongoing challenge. A cross-functional team from various levels has been formed and commissioned to undertake the periodic evaluation.
 

The Electro winning (EW) technology is a process of electrochemical recovery of metals from their dissolved state. It has multitude of cost effective applications in the recovery of copper from aqueous solutions. Apart from primary applications, EW technology is equally efficient in recovery of Copper from secondary sources.

With the introduction of new technology, Somika will have remarkable efficient metal recovery technology that would elevate recovery of copper from pickling and general waste solutions to a commercial enterprise. It would enable copper recovery in single step with high copper purity and reduction of disposal cost. New electro winning technology would successfully overcome many of the process and cost limitations.
